I worked with top music and content agency Script and Anglia Ruskin University’s CoDE Research Institute on a Digital R&D Fund for the Arts-supported research project investigating the use of mobile apps to release recorded music.
Apps have the potential to revitalise the record industry, providing a piracy-resistant, easily accessible release format. More importantly, apps can offer the kind of rich, immersive experience completely absent from existing digital formats, delivering high-quality audio, artwork, video and supporting information.
Gathering feedback from consumers, artists and industry figures via focus groups and interviews, I produced a series of documents leading up to the final research report. I also helped to publicise the project through press releases, editorial and presentations.
